Electric Black Cab Insurance
Plan Insurance Brokers can offer cover for electric vehicles, like the LEVC Electric TX and the new Nissan Dynamo, without a major change to the premium from a TX4, for example.
Some insurers are wary of offering cover for electric vehicles. This is largely due to the greater potential for higher claims resulting from unforeseen issues with the new technology.
At Plan, we’re pleased to report that our insurer partners want to support the taxi drivers who choose to transition to electric, and are not put off by these considerations.
Plan clients can benefit from:
- Accident management services
- Public Liability
- Loss of keys and replacement locks if lost or stolen up to £500
- Personal Accident cover

If you currently drive an older model, such as a TX2, there will be a small increase due to the higher vehicle value.
Our insurers will cover the panoramic glass roof in the event of an accident.
However, it will be subject to normal claims procedures rather than treated as a windscreen claim.
An Electric Black Cab Insurance can typically be arranged with supplementary products to include optional covers for:
- 24 Hour roadside assistance in the UK mainland.
- European cover.
- Loss of keys and replacement locks if lost or stolen up to £500
- Motor legal expenses and claims management.
- Medical expenses following an accident
- Full glass cover
